Summary:

The Small Municipalities and Limited Population Counties Grant Program provides grant funds to small municipalities and counties to assist with public infrastructure and public facilities needs.

Priority is given to projects that are tied to economic development and that promote private job creation and capital investment. Funding availability is determined annually by the Mississippi Legislature.

Eligible Recipients Detail:

Small municipalities – defined as municipalities in Mississippi with a population of 10,000 or less according to the most recent federal decennial census at the time of application.

Limited population counties – defined as counties in Mississippi with a population of 30,000 or less
according to the most recent federal decennial census at the time of application.

Natural gas districts - districts created by state law and meeting the same requirements as small
municipalities.

Eligible Purpose:

Last Mile Infrastructure; Middle Mile Infrastructure; Anchor Institution Infrastructure; General Infrastructure; Building Infrastructure

Eligible Purpose Detail:

The Small Municipalities and Limited Population Counties Grant Program can be used by eligible local authorities for public infrastructure and public building improvements. Priority is given to projects that are tied to economic development and that promote private job creation and capital investment.
