Summary:

Funding for K-12 schools and libraries obtain affordable broadband. Support ranges from 20% to 90%. Ongoing. Discounts range from 20-90 % of the costs of eligible services, depending on the level of poverty and the urban/rural status at the school district level. Eligible schools, school districts, and libraries may apply individually or as part of a consortium.

Eligible Purpose Detail:

Funding may be requested under two categories of service: services to a school or library (telecommunications, telecommunications services and Internet access), and services that deliver Internet access within schools and libraries (internal connections, basic maintenance of internal connections, and managed internal broadband services). Eligible services include: Data Transmission Services and/or Internet Access, Internal Connections, Managed Internal Broadband Services, and Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections. Only eligible products or services that will be used for educational purposes can be funded.

Funding Match/Terms:

E-Rate will subsidize between 20% and 90% of eligible costs, depending on the level of poverty and the urban/rural status at the school district level.
