Map Description:

Commission staff created block-level estimates of housing units, households, and population estimates for all 56 states, territories and the District of Columbia, based on public data from the U.S. Census Bureau and OpenStreetMap.

Coverage Definition:

This is a map of block-level housing unit, household, and population count estimates and can be used for broadband deployment planning purposes and comparison with block-level FCC data.

Collection Method:

The full methodology is available at the site link, but FCC staff use 2010 Census block-level data on housing units, households, and population counts, along with more recent County-level housing unit and population estimates from the Census Bureau and OpenStreetMap data on addresses to estimate more recent block-level data.
