Map Description:

This series of static, county-level tables and maps use a combination of FCC Form 477 data and Internet Service Provider data to show the percent and number of households in each county with access to broadband, segmented by speed tier( 10/1 download/upload speeds, 25/3 download/upload speeds, 50/5 Mbps download/upload speeds, and 100 Mbps download/upload speeds), and technology type.

Coverage Definition:

Unless direct provider confirmation is available, a Census Block has Broadband Coverage if at least one Internet Service Provider is “providing [broadband] or could …without an extraordinary commitment of resources provide broadband service to an area.”

Collection Method:

Broadband data displayed on this map are developed from a combination FCC Form 477 broadband deployment filings and direct provider outreach and data collection conducted by Connection Nation Ohio. If a broadband provider was unwilling or unable to supply granular data and a detailed service area could not be developed the providers service area is not represented by FCC Form 477 data, a format which tends to be overstated.
