Thank you for belonging to DDAA! Your membership makes a real difference. The Development District Association of Appalachia has been busy in 2024 working to support your community. DDAA supports Local Development Districts in building healthy, prosperous, diverse, and resilient communities across the Appalachian Region.

Conference and Networking
- Conducted the Annual Conference in Arlington, VA with 252 registrants over four days.
- Held conference sessions on LDD peer sharing, recovery to work, GIS, and artificial intelligence.
- Hosted over 120 attendees at the DDAA Breakfast at the 2024 NADO Training Conference in New Orleans, LA.

- Conducted Professional Development Seminar in Huntington, WV with 77 registrants.
- Held seminar sessions on human resources, partnering with ARC, and LDD peer sharing.
- Delivered revolving loan funds webinar series in partnership with ARC.
- Delivered financial and grant management webinar series in partnership with ARC.

Technical Assistance
- Completed Building a Recovery-to-Work Ecosystem project with ARC, including the creation of the Recovery-to-Work Ecosystem Builder’s Guide and hosting four regional ARC grantee peer meetings.
- Conducted LDD-State Alignment Project, an effort to better understand the relationships LDDs have with their state partners and ARC and finding ways to strengthen their partnerships.

Membership Outreach
DDAA Immediate Past President Heather Feldman helmed the foundation of the Outreach Committee to modernize the DDAA brand and website. Through the Committee, in 2024 DDAA:
- Launched a new logo reflecting DDAA’s forward focus.
- Continued a blog post series in the monthly newsletter featuring projects from DDAA board members’ LDDs.
- Updated branding and added functionality to the DDAA website including a new member area.
- Delivered monthly newsletters with key information on DDAA, ARC, and other key Federal and state initiatives and news.

Strengthening the ARC Partnership
DDAA recognizes the great value that it receives from its partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission. Through regular dialogue with ARC staff and leadership, DDAA has conducted numerous initiatives seeking to help ARC achieve their objectives and serve member LDDs including:
- Conducting the LDD-State Alignment Project to strengthen the LDD-State-ARC three-legged stool.
- Supported the new ARC LDD grant training requirement by conducting the financial and grant management webinar series and a specialized ARC track at the Professional Development Seminar.
