On July 16-17, DDAA held the 2024 Professional Development Seminar in Huntington, West Virginia. The seminar provided timely and relevant training to those who desired to improve their work skills and enhance their performance at their organization, from executive directors, managers, and board members to fiscal officers and program staff.
Gayle Manchin, Co-Chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission, shared her optimistic vision for building a future of Appalachia. Other sessions included topics such as staff retention, the future of work, navigating funding opportunities, and working with the ARC.
DDAA Board and staff also toured the Marshall University Advanced Manufacturing Center in Huntington, West Virginia (pictured above) where they learned about the many high-paying career opportunities for students enabled through apprenticeships programs, resources for entrepreneurs, as well as partnership opportunities for public and private organizations across the U.S.
